I’ve had success in training blood tracking dogs using liver drags & progressing to the interdigital gland.
It’s important to use this gland on gut shot, poorly shot or archery killed deer who have ran preferably 60+ yards. If that information is not available to the deer processor who gives me the hooves; I just look for the deer who have been shot outside of the vitals area.
I’ll also get blood from my local processor & save it in a small chest freezer for tracking training.
I will return your email as soon as possible.
